I have a house made of lightweight concrete, and I would like to have a balcony on one part of the bay window. The bay window extends 1.2m, so I want a balcony that is 1.2m deep and then follows the facade, which is 3m wide. However, I would prefer not to build the balcony with pillars and wonder if there is any way I can build the balcony to avoid pillars, as the building permit unit is unlikely to allow pillars since I have used up my entire building area. I want to make the blue area into a balcony.

  • Simple building plan with a rectangular structure in red lines. Blue shaded area on the upper left intended for a 1.2m deep balcony, no pillars.
Place the pillars next to the wall and the balcony as a console. There are ready-made concepts.
Many apartment buildings install balconies afterwards as it does not take up ground space.

Are you sure it doesn't count towards the building area just because it lacks pillars?

I want to avoid columns at the front, along the facade I can place them but otherwise, it has to be free-hanging.

Yes, that's what I mean. You attach two VKR pipes, about 120x50, bolted to the wall with an angled brace that the balcony hangs from. Look around for examples in older apartment buildings.
