I have a couple of questions regarding the foundation for a garage.
I am planning to build a garage on a slope, the idea is to use leca blocks to build up the sides to 120 cm, backfill with gravel, etc.
Length 8.5m, width 6.5m.
Is it necessary to reinforce each layer due to soil pressure?
Is a retaining wall needed?
On top of the leca blocks, a wooden structure will be built with 145mm studs, 240cm high, gable roof, clay tiles, insulated garage.
How much load can leca withstand?

Reinforcement I can only guess about, so yes maybe it would be wise to have plenty of reinforcement due to the earth pressure.

You must have a cast stable foundation for the lecan and additionally reinforce, maybe every other layer. In the lecaarmering, you then place reinforcing bars at a 45-degree angle as tension rods towards the foundation where you will backfill. Anchor the tension rods in lecablocks that you position approximately 0.8m in if you are going to have a 1.2m high wall. Use galvanized rods and reinforcement to be on the safe side for many years.
