Hello

We took down a wall according to best practices and installed new beams. However, when we dismantled the underlying structure, we found a steel track. It doesn't really feel like it could be load-bearing, too thin and weak for that. Possibly stabilizing during the construction phase. What is this?

  • Exposed brick wall section with a thin steel beam, possibly a temporary stabilizing element during construction, amidst new wooden beams.

Apparently, there are bricks above, so it does support the masonry in the wall.

Thin and weak? It looks like a sturdy H-beam?

Ts means the iron that goes under the beam he has mounted. Could it be meant to absorb tensile forces in some way is my thought?

Yes, I missed it, yes it looks like a dragjärn..

Thinking the same. Holding together the (outer) walls on the sides by taking tensile forces?

Is the steel strap perhaps to hold the wall together in tension? If so, it is probably intended as reinforcement so that the wall does not crack.
