I am going to create an opening for a door (9*21 door) in a wall (which used to be an exterior wall) into a part of the house that has been extended afterwards. Since we are going to submit a building permit application for other things in the house anyway, we thought we'd do everything by the book and include this as well. Then the building committee will likely want structural calculations for the load-bearing beam.

It's the wall on one of the house's short sides so, if I understood correctly, the load is less than on the long sides that carry the load from the roof trusses.
It’s stud walls (5cm) in the entire house.

I found the following program, http://www.byggbeskrivningar.se/dimensionering.aspx?Cid=107
But there you can only calculate on the long side of the house, and based on our house it suggests using (structural timber) 120*45 (C14) as a pillar and 220*45 (C18) as a beam.

But it feels like killing a fly with a sledgehammer because the load must be much less on the short sides.

Does anyone know of a web-based program or have a formula for calculating which beam we should use?
