Before K Rauta closed in Malmö, I bought some studs and they were very straight and sturdy.

Now I want to buy the same ones again, but where?

Grateful for help.

Ask for finger-jointed board

Short rule up to 2.5m can often be finger-jointed

Bad purchaser? ;)

My building supply store, which primarily targets professionals, has finger-jointed short studs, but they can order regular ones if I ask for it :)

You're getting the leftovers😉and the crooked ones that are cut down to the finger-jointed ones😂
So if you want it that way, go for it!

What is the downside of finger joints? The advantages are obvious, but there might be disadvantages that outweigh them.

Finger-jointed are more expensive but more dimensionally stable

I saw the scarf-jointed ones as a shortcut rule recently for the first time. It was at Byggmax where all the short 120*45 were finger-jointed. No price increase.

We can get them at secondary quality, so we can buy them cheaper if we wish to use these.

Ok, so sometimes they are cheaper, sometimes more expensive, and sometimes they cost the same as non-jointed ones.

The only thing I know that sets them apart from others is that they are stable.

Now I want to know what is worse?

Can the glue, for example, be sensitive to moisture?

What class are the reglarna?

No classification at all on the ones I bought, but there's none on their unjointed short studs either, so there are no clues there.

A quick search shows that Moelven has finger-jointed C24, but there's nothing about what the difference is.

For me, who builds more furniture than houses, a glue joint is not something that weakens a construction, and it is used to stabilize or reduce movements in solid wood.

C14 is usually used for interior wall studs, at least in the smaller dimensions.
