I have decorated an attic space with a sloping ceiling and am now planning to install floor moldings under the sloping ceiling (or the inclined wall, if that is more correct). However, I'm wondering if anyone has a good tip on how to best attach the moldings to an inclined wall?
I have thought about screwing a cleat into the floor behind the baseboard and nailing the molding to the cleat. However, the molding would then be fixed against the sloping ceiling, thereby preventing the floor from moving. So that doesn't feel quite right. Does anyone have a smart solution to my problem?

Cut a piece of molding at the same angle as the ceiling and screw it into the ceiling instead, then attach the molding to it?
