Hello!

I've made quite a lot of progress on a basement project of about 80m² in a 1940s house.

The next step is tiling the floor in rooms (not wet rooms, but likely with moisture through the walls standing in clay) with plastered walls. Are there any special primers & adhesives I should look into for such a job, or would something like Biltema's (presumably cheaper) work?

I have never chosen tiles (or laid them before), so I don't know much, for example, the type of tiles is there any difference (apart from the price SEK 70-1000/m2) to consider?

Work progress so far:
Outside:
Drainage with Isodrän.
Floor:
Excavated, insulated with Isodrän + cellular plastic, underfloor heating pipes, reinforcement & poured concrete.
Base/foundation beam:
Unchanged, i.e., still standing in clay.
Walls:
Currently plastering. Some new lightweight concrete walls and replastering of existing walls.

Next step:
Floor:
Tiles on all floors.
  • Some living rooms without slope, drainage & water. Tips on waterproofing, primers
  • Some wet rooms with shower, bathtub, washing machine, toilets, etc. Here I'm thinking of waterproofing around floor drains and shower/bathtub, but otherwise "open".
Walls:
  • Plaster on walls in living rooms, painted with lime paint or silicate. Haven't decided yet. Tips are welcome.
  • Tiles on walls in wet rooms. Waterproofing around the shower and bathtub only.

It works with most fixes. K-rauta sells Casco's Multifix 25 kg for 229 kr, which is a good, dust-reduced fix at a low price per kilo.

Regarding tiles, it is easier to achieve good results with small tiles in rooms with floor slopes. Type 10x10 cm are often delivered netted with, for example, 12 tiles connected together. They are quick to lay.
