I would dig deeper in the middle of the room and cast a strong concrete ring around it so that the foundation cannot cave in. So it becomes like a cast concrete ledge, let's say 10 or 20 cm high and half a meter wide around the entire room with full standing height in the rest of the room. The ledge becomes a good dry shelf to place things on.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work as the drainage isn't deep enough.
