Now I have been sitting and reading around a bit here in the forum, but it has only given me more questions...
We have a basement about 3.5x3.5m. Now we have torn up the old, uninsulated floor and are going to replace the beams and insulate. That was the plan. Now that I've read here, I learned that it's not just about insulating randomly. If the temperature in the basement changes, you can get house fungus. As far as I know, there hasn't been any heating in the building for many years, but it still hasn't been freezing cold since the house has been in use daily. The basement also doesn't seem to be damp. The boiler is supposed to be in the basement space, and the temperature will change anyway. (the old boiler was also in the basement).
Do you need to worry about fungus if you have a dry basement?
I also thought a bit about the construction. I think the best is to build up posts in the corners and in the middle to support the new floor structure. My husband wants to put wooden posts. What is best?
