Floor joist on parquet flooring with heating coils underneath?
I am going to build a partition wall to divide a large room. The floor is a parquet floor (I think 16 mm) and there are underfloor heating coils underneath. I'm not sure if there's also some sort of chipboard between the underfloor heating and the parquet floor. I don't want to risk screwing into the coils, so my idea is to screw a horizontal aluminum track to the floor with short screws, max 10 mm. Onto the aluminum track, I will screw a horizontal wooden track to which I will then attach the vertical wall studs.
Is this a good idea, or does anyone have another smart suggestion?

I will never screw in a floor with a heating pipe again :blushing:
What will you "use" the wall for? I mean, will it have heavy things hanging on it and be subjected to tensile forces?
Because if it’s just going to function as a wall to hang pictures and similar items, double-sided tape under a wooden batten is sufficient, or you can use adhesive like PL 400. The wall is just supposed to stand there, so it doesn’t need to be screwed in.

Thank you for the response. The wall may not be heavily loaded. It will divide a room that is 4000 mm and the wall will be 2500 mm, meaning no door opening but it does not go from wall to wall - one "end" stands free. On one side of the wall, a TV will be mounted, on the other side I am building a bookshelf from floor to ceiling. The ceiling height is 3500 mm.
