Floor chipboards

Hello

I have brought home 22x600x2400 chipboard flooring, and now it occurred to me that these can be laid in two directions, along the joists or across. What is commonly done?
I also saw in the building store that there was "spångolvsgegga" which should be used instead of wood glue to reduce squeaking. Is it something worth investing in or is it just a product developed to find another way to make money?

Laid across the joists for best durability....check suppliers' websites for installation instructions. (I mistakenly laid chipboard along the joists in our shed..and it works so far..but it's not right)

The glue is primarily to increase the stiffness and strength of the floor structure..you also avoid creaking as a bonus.

There are manufacturers that have chipboards approved for running joints, meaning that they can be joined between the joists. This way, there is less waste. It might be most interesting if you have other distances than c/c 60. Otherwise, what Forbo writes is correct: lay them across the joists, regular wood glue is sufficient, and there is no reason to buy anything else. I have done it this way and haven't heard any creaking yet.

I agree with Forbo and Ola78, lay perpendicular to the joists and preferably use winter wood glue, which should be more suitable for gluing chipboards, for example:

I thought that the chipboards were just to lay out with a little glue in between... but it's apparently more complicated than that.
