Hello.
We are in the process of changing our kitchen.
In connection with this, the ceiling needs to be fixed. There was painted fiberglass wallpaper on the ceiling (horribly ugly). I tried to tear this down. It went quite well to remove, but in quite a few places the plaster/spackle came off, and in other places, there is a lot of glue left.
I'm considering how to best fix up a nice ceiling. It feels like it could be quite a lot of work to spackle/plaster and then paint (knocking down loose plaster, getting it smooth, etc.).
One alternative is to install gypsum board or some sort of ceiling tiles. Since the ceiling is concrete, it will probably need furring strips first. Are there metal furring strips that can be attached directly to the concrete ceiling, or do we have to use primary + secondary furring strips?
I'm also slightly considering spotlights, but that might not belong in this forum section. In any case, are there even decent spotlights that require no more than maybe 5-6 cm of build height? Can't lower it too much because the tall cabinets need to fit in. LED?
