Hi,

I have some thoughts on fixing interior walls and ceilings - in my house, the job was poorly done, and at a minimum, it will need to be filled and wallpapered again in almost every room (fun, that's not why I built new! :P).

In any case, in connection with this, I'm considering whether I should go a step further and also change the walls a bit from just being plasterboard to Plyfa + plasterboard. This is to avoid the hassle with plugs and for some additional sound insulation. Being able to check for any moisture and mold damage at the same time is an additional plus.

Overkill or good? Is there perhaps a better material than Plyfa?

If nothing else, it sounds like it will be very exhausting to tear down the old drywall and then put up plywood and drywall and then fill, sand, wallpaper, and put up new moldings and trims.

If it's too much for filling, I would probably put up renovation drywall on the existing walls.

Yeah, I also think it sounds tough :)
I just get so damn irritated when the holes get too big, shortlings are missing, etc.

It might make sense to do this during a 10-year renovation ala värsting and be content with just plastering and repainting the ceilings for now instead.

But sure, it would turn out great, right? ;D

Yes, there are better materials than plyfa. A so-called OSB board does the job just as well but costs significantly less. Krauta sells these for 119SEK/board, while plyfa costs you 155-160 bucks.
