Hello!
I’m considering building a wood storage above my fireplace.
But there's a flue, so I don't want to drill into the wall, so I thought maybe using adhesive or something similar. Do you think it's possible to build a construction in wood, or will it get too hot? Should I go for heat-resistant gypsum?
Has anyone found a solution to this who can give some advice? 😊

How to attach it and what material to use 😊

Thanks for the responses!

  • Brick fireplace with wood logs, partial chimney visible; user considers building a storage solution above using heat-resistant materials.
  • Stacked firewood stored in two vertical compartments above a fireplace.
  • Hand-drawn sketch of a fireplace with wood storage above, featuring stacked logs and brick elements, related to a discussion on construction materials.
I would have a greater distance between the firewood and the fireplace.
