I am working on a building permit application as I am planning to extend the existing carport by 2m and install garage doors. However, I have encountered some issues from the municipality, which requires that the wall (and roof?) facing our house must meet fire rating EI60 as it is less than 4m to the house (3.6m). This requirement, of course, also applies to the existing part of the garage and not just the part to be extended.
The walls in the existing part are built with concrete blocks, and the extension is planned in leca-blocks. Does this meet the EI60 standard? If not, what needs to be added?
Best regards,
Johan
