There are some questions about double plasterboard walls, for example in a boiler room. I have always believed that a double plasterboard wall means two layers of plasterboard on top of each other on the same side of the wall, but I have been told by someone else who is building a new boiler room in his garage that a stud wall 45x70 and a single plasterboard on each side is enough to make it a fire-rated wall?!? But what the... then it’s just a regular interior wall! And a cheap one at that... I didn't want to argue with him as he seemed so confident in the information he had received, but surely there should be double plasterboard on the side facing the boiler room??

Grateful for answers.

ok, will do it, thanks
