What are the fire protection regulations when building an attached garage?

Is a single layer of plasterboard enough, or are two layers needed? Or is there even more to consider?

Well, I've been in there and checked, but you probably need a bit of education to understand everything that's there... Was thinking more if someone knew how you have to build for it to be approved.

I have just received building permission and had a construction meeting for my attached garage with living space both beside and above.

In my case, a 30-minute fire rating applies to the walls/ceiling adjacent to the living space, and according to the rescue service, this should be fairly easy to achieve even with single plasterboard.

A layer of gypsum on both sides of a wooden stud frame provides EI30 fire resistance. If the frame is at least 95mm and there is at least 95mm of mineral wool in between, the class becomes EI60.
