Fine-tuning on a newly plastered chimney

I have just replastered the chimney breast (which will be used frequently) with a lime mortar according to previous recommendations on the forum.

I spent hours on it before I gave up... The result turned out okay, but it wouldn't hurt to go over it again and fine-tune in some places now that it has dried... Is this okay, do you think??? I was least satisfied with the outer corner... but oh well, I can live with it.

Yes, and then a much thinner layer to remove some irregularities that bother me a little.
