Fine concrete on lightweight aggregate blocks.

I'm casting a lightweight clinker base, one course, for my garage and have encountered a problem! Why doesn't the concrete stick to the leca blocks in the butt joint?? I've moistened the blocks but there's no difference, the mortar falls off!! I've tried both Byggmax and Weber fine concrete.

Are you trying to lay lecablock with fine concrete?

What is the difference between fine concrete and b-bruk??

Not concrete at all. You should use mortar. Either A or B. The blocks should not be wetted as the mortar will adhere even worse. Then you need to be a bit quick when placing the blocks so that the mortar doesn't fall off.

You cast with Finbetong, if you are going to lay bricks, B-bruk is what you use. It is much smoother and sticks easily.

Must have had a brain freeze. I've watched the Byggmax instruction video a number of times on how to build a wall with lightweight concrete blocks and still bought the wrong ones!
