Fill plasterboard joints?

How do I fill the joints between drywall that don't have a recess?

Should I cut a small recess with a knife, then fill the recess, let it dry, sand it, apply reinforcement tape, and then fill it again?

Cut a "v".
Tape on, fiberglass or paper (I used fiberglass).
Putty and sand.

Do you have to use fiberglass, how does it turn out without it?

Jumping in on the thread... I have a basement room with plastered walls. There are some drums made of minerit (those in contact with the floor) and gypsum (those at ceiling height) for pipes and beams. The final finish in the room is, overall, a plastered wall.

I have filled the drums but wonder if I should glue fiberglass fabric (or something like "the problem solver") over the drums to prevent the paint from cracking? Is there a risk that the glue or the fabric might mold, or are they inorganic?

Without fiberglass tape/paper, there is a high risk of visible cracks at the seams when the plasterboard moves. Most people find using fiberglass tape the easiest, even though paper is the only one approved according to the building regulations.

So definitely use some tape, make a V with tape, plaster, and enjoy a good wall 
