After we tore down an old built-in closet, this hole appeared behind everything. We have received approval from the board to seal the hole since there's quite a bit of noise coming from it. That is, cover it on our wall, not block the airflow in the actual hole :) I've received great tips on the forum before so I just wanted to check how you would do it and with what material. We will be installing a new closet that will cover the hole, so it doesn't need to be super pretty, just even.

  • Corner of a room with a hole in the wall near the ceiling, exposed after removing a built-in wardrobe, awaiting repair to reduce noise.
  • A wall with a hole exposed after removing a built-in wardrobe, showing rough edges and surrounding plaster.
But what is it then? A ventilation duct? Someone must have hacked up the hole for some reason? Doesn't look like pieces just fell off like that.......

An apartment built in 1955. So that was used before vents were built by the windows and so on. People from the association have been here and said that we can seal it up.
