Removed a switch and its box so now the hole remains in the wall.

What would be the best among these options:

1. Put a board on the backside and then fill in the rest with putty.

2. Put a board, cut out a round disc and place it in the hole against the back board, which would require significantly less putty.

Then I'm considering how to fasten everything, glue or screw? (9.2mm masonite)

option 2
apply a bead of adhesive and screw it onto a piece of plywood. then take the hole saw and cut a piece and screw it on.

putty.

Attach a board to the inside of the hole, into which you screw a round disc. Then just apply putty.

Well, then I wasn't so dumb after all when I started step 2 already yesterday by taking the hole saw and arranging a round disc. :)

But this thing with mounting adhesive, can you really rely on its durability? Not fun if it comes loose.

use both glue and screws. belt and suspenders

would have been better to let the box remain and fill with plaster

Y
Maybe but then I wouldn't have been able to mount one the other way as intended.

because such a dosa does not stay still. a few weeks after refilling, you can see a ring where the dosa is

Have done it hundreds of times and there have never been any marks afterwards
