Fixing the wall is no problem. When my husband visited the house, it turned out that they had actually put up the molding on the wall. Check out the pictures.

What we don't understand is why they did it before we agreed on what to do with the stairs...
A not too wild guess is that they realized their mistake and are trying to make it look as good as possible to avoid a discussion about them messing up and you demanding that they fix a staircase that is adapted to your layout and that you should have had from the beginning.

Additionally, it seems quite evident that the wrong staircase was ordered/delivered, and expecting the customer to notice this among hundreds of details is a bit much.

I'm just saying that you probably can't blame the carpenters for assembling the staircase that's on the drawing if you yourself have approved the drawings....if there's a gap on the drawing, it should be noticeable. Then it's still MH who made the mistake from the start by drawing it wrong, so TS should still be able to walk away unscathed even if they approved the drawing, unless the mistake was easy to see.

Edit: Then, as you also wrote, the carpenters should have noticed. My carpenters asked about everything, even if it was on the drawing, such as the placement of closets...which direction the floor should lie in, etc...

I guess they "intended" for you to fit your hand between the upper barrier and the handrail. But instead of moving the barrier further from the stairs, they accidentally moved the cart further from the barrier...?

After some phone calls back and forth between us, the seller, site manager, and Myresjöhus centrally, it has been resolved well. We will get a new staircase and this time we get to approve the drawing before the staircase is ordered.

Unfortunately, we won't get the staircase before we move in (on Saturday), but that's a minor issue. Right now, it just feels so good that we will get a new staircase and won't have to be irritated with the incorrect one for all eternity.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Note: We have never blamed the carpenters; they have done a fantastic job with our house. We are more than satisfied.

Nice when it works out in a good way!

Nicely handled by the husföretaget!

How great that it was resolved so smoothly! :)

Report in this thread when you have received the staircase and show the pictures, otherwise someone else might be affected and not get a correction. I can say that the staircase looks strange in the second turn... it can't be right because in the walking line it should not look like that, so make the supplier aware of it so that you get a proper staircase!

Handrails should have an identical slope with the staircase otherwise it becomes completely wrong.

How do you mean gaia? It could be a railing, but you might not need to have all the spindles down to the stringer..

Edit: Addition: when you build the staircase in the right width, that is...
ach yes, it's the double spindles that are wrong? .... :)
The handrail was attached to them so it looked like they were needed :)
