I'm going to mount a wall bracket to hang the TV.
The house is from the '70s and the interior walls are made of some type of board, I would say it's some form of MDF. 14-15 mm thick.
Ideally (one should) hang the bracket on the studs BUT I want the TV in a spot right between the studs (the bracket is about 35cm).

Do you have any tips on what the best mounting is for the TV bracket? Some form of wall anchor? What would you do?

How big is the TV, or rather, how much does it weigh?
Is it just the MDF-like board or is there gypsum on the outside?
Molly plug M6 has a load capacity of about 35-40 kg.

It's a 55”, so I don't think it's more than 20kg for the TV and a few kg for the bracket.
It's only that sheet, no drywall.

I've used molly on drywall for smaller things but never for something so heavy. But then an M6 molly should work for the TV bracket. There will be 4 screws for the bracket… should absolutely be enough or even too much, right?

I had bought an Mdf board that I screwed between two studs, then attached the TV mount to it, so the mount doesn't have to be attached to any stud. As long as the TV hides the Mdf board, it works well. That's what I did for our 85" TV.

Edit: I don't think you have Mdf in the walls, it's expensive.

Ah, right! Not a bad idea with a piece of board! I'll keep that in mind.

Hmm, maybe it's not MDF. What material could it be? Modular house built in the '70s…

Oh, it could be anything 🫣, it was quite a mix in the 70s. Maybe some thin board or something similar.

I bought pre-made MDF shelf boards (unpainted) that were about 125cm long and 40cm deep at Bauhaus. Most hardware stores sell MDF as shelf boards, so you don't have to buy a full-sized board and cut it.

I have a house from '72 and my walls are 10mm HDF/masonite. It's rock hard and holds up well. So it does exist.

It probably wouldn't be tretex, which is much more porous than MDF, for example.

This is what the board looks like... in one of the pictures you can see how porous it is inside. It's a sort of pressed material with a smooth surface (12-13mm). I've mounted a string shelf and small items using regular wood screws, and it holds well and feels stable. I think as long as the board is intact (which it is where the TV will be mounted), a couple of Molly bolts should do the trick and hold up 20-25kg. The wall mount itself is about 35 cm wide and will be screwed horizontally, which should distribute the weight effectively.
