For example, Byggmax has faux gypsum with board material that looks like slate or brick. They themselves call it faux gypsum that can be cut with a regular wood saw. I'm thinking of putting it on a chimney breast by a stove because it looks nice. It is a freestanding wood-burning stove connected to the chimney breast, but inside the wall, there is insulation and a chimney liner. The chimney breast doesn't get hot, but around the connection from the wood-burning stove, it gets a bit warm.
Does anyone know what I mean and have more information about this faux gypsum? Can it withstand the temperature from the wood-burning stove? Byggmax doesn't have staff who understand anything, and their so-called customer contact is closed outside office hours. Moreover, I don't think their customer service staff understand any more than the staff in their stores. (I get completely fed up with stores and shops that are afraid of customer contact and see weekdays and times of day as an accepted excuse for not having customer contact)
