Hello,
I'm renovating a facade (concrete) that has peeling old paint. The facade will be repainted in a new color.

In preparation, I have scraped off everything loose and a bit more with the help of a heat gun/speedheater.
However, not all paint comes off easily and some is really stuck.
Some repairs are also needed on the concrete facades, some parts have come loose and some cracks.
Now I have questions regarding the next step and need your wise advice!

Can we proceed with the repairs and let the paint stay for repainting?

How would you do it and any tips on good materials for renovation?

All tips are welcome! Thanks!

  • Peeling paint on a concrete facade, showing exposed areas and cracks needing repair before repainting.
  • Flaking paint on a concrete facade with visible damage and cracks, showing areas needing patching before repainting during renovation.
  • Brick wall with a damaged concrete facade showing peeled paint. Red railing and stairs lead to a wooden door. Signs of wear and concrete needing repair.
