Hello.

I had some craftspeople who fixed up the floor in my garage and laid floor tiles. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their work, but unfortunately, they made a real mistake. The original slab had a bevel where the garage door should be. For some unknown reason, the guys filled this bevel, which caused the self-leveling compound to come up over the facade. See image.

This is obviously not a sustainable solution, so my thought is to cut off the panel where the line is and then put in some type of protection underneath. My question now is what type of protection should be used.

One suggestion is to install a sheet metal behind the cut panel, so that it resembles a window.

Are there other ways, and should one still fill with some type of silicone or similar so that water doesn't run in under the plate?

All suggestions are welcome!

Best regards,

Peter
