You should never put plastic behind the panel, what should be there is paper/wind barrier/etc to ensure it is airtight. Putting dense plastic behind the panel is a major mistake.

Ok, so the paper is solely for wind purposes? I'm thinking it's extra important to be sealed if any water comes in when the air gap is absent. But good, now I know.

Wind barrier foil or wind paper, are there any pros and cons compared to each other there?

The foil is more modern and easier to work with. Otherwise, they serve roughly the same function.

Ok. Do you recommend removing the old windbreaker first, or is it okay to staple the windproof membrane directly on?

Byggmax has a foil called bison, does anyone have experience if it's good stuff?

Is there something wrong with the pappen?

Yes, in many places it's cracked. Do you think it's possible to save some time by going over the old one if it works?

Certainly 50 years old so it feels safest with new anyway even where it is intact in many places тоже

A tip is to replace the foil and install a new nailer if A tip is to replace the wind barrier and also to install a nailer for ventilation behind the panel if you're going to put on a new panel anyway.

The annoying thing is that the windows end up further in then. You have to change the casing on the windows which is quite a hassle.

Bison works fine. Are you going to have vertical or horizontal paneling? If you're going with vertical paneling, an additional vertical batten for ventilation behind the nail battens is recommended, at least 8mm.

It will be horizontal. I currently have weatherboard. But it's a nightmare to paint because the surface is so glossy planed.. So I think it will be z panel. Then it'll be bison.

Does anyone know if you can leave the existing wind barrier in place when installing wind foil, or does it have to be removed first?

As long as you don't paint the exterior façade with a diffusion-tight paint, like acrylic paint, then it should be fine without an air gap.
Isn't it rather the other way around?
Moisture always finds a way in one way or another.
And the dense paints prevent the moisture from escaping.
