I am about to extend the frame where the stove used to be. This way, the entire construction connects to the cabinet where the fridge was (where I now have the microwave/oven). I will then raise everything about 5 cm before installing a new countertop that can then run the entire length.
However, I would need a little inspiration on how to best proceed. Build a completely new cabinet that I wedge in? Or just a frame on the floor (construction adhesive against the concrete), studs in the corners, and then a frame on top of that? Maybe plus some cross braces. I was also thinking of just having two MDF on either side on top of the intended frame on the floor. Or no frame, just MDF sides directly on the floor and then a plank as a front at the floor level.
Yes, as you can hear, I'm a bit unsure (and not exactly a super carpenter either for that matter...).
Later I thought of making a fake-overlapped door in MDF using a router.
"I'm only spitballing here" as they say.. Gratefully accepting all types of suggestions.
