Anyone with experience of Ultra Board from Norgips? (or equivalent)
Same dimensions as a plasterboard but supposed to handle up to 33kg with a screw and 60kg with a plug.
Should be a convenient choice if it's tricky to mount e.g. osv behind.

Also curious. Considering trying it now in October.G GustavGBG said:
Interesting. I have OSB throughout the house and have put up drywall in the rooms I have renovated, and I will soon start on the living room where a wall adjacent to the fireplace has single drywall. I had planned to frame where I want the wall-mounted TV, but this would be much better and still fireproof.
Hello,
A little evaluation of ultraboard.
Quite cumbersome. It's quite difficult to break the plaster, especially if it's just a short protrusion that needs to be removed. In that case, it's almost easier to saw.
You have to cut several times with the knife.
Another problem is that the hard plasterboard screw is difficult to drive in. You definitely don't have the problem of piercing through the paper. Rather, it's that you sometimes can't get the head in sufficiently. Especially when it's a bit difficult to reach. The screws could have had Torx but they're not available to get hold of.
So if you don't need every centimeter of space that I'm chasing, I probably wouldn't go for ultraboard. Then I would probably go for a wooden board and then regular plaster.

I agree after plastering with it for about 10m. I'm glad it was just that and nothing more.Moxieman said:

Another problem is that the hard plaster screw is difficult to drive in. You really don't have the problem of going through the paper. Rather, you sometimes can't get the head in far enough. Especially when it's a bit hard to reach. The screws could have been torx but it's not available.
So if you don't need every centimeter of space like I'm chasing, I probably wouldn't use ultraboard. Then I would probably use a wooden board and then regular plaster.
