I built a house in Östersund, my contacts were in Umeå, I got quotes from all building supply stores in Östersund, and one from K-rauta in Umeå.
To my surprise, K-rauta was the cheapest even though they were 35 miles away, everything would be delivered home to the plot—beams, lumber, foundation, insulation for everything, interior, windows, doors.
Everyone bought from the same supplier for the foundation, insulation, all indoor wooden floors, etc., the same brands.
I took the K-rauta quote to Xl-bygg in Östersund, showed it, and said, do you want to sell or not? (they were the second best of all.)
Of course, we want to sell, so they matched all the prices.
Price difference between the most expensive and the cheapest was about 200,000 SEK for the exact same items/brands/suppliers.
