Expensive trusses...
Since the municipality denied us the standard angle for the roof trusses (35 degrees), we had to redraw them with a 22-degree roof angle. The wall of the house was then raised by a maximum of 1 meter, resulting in minimal additional costs for gypsum and some extra meters of framework timber. But this only applies to every other stud as the others are "included" in the actual trusses.
Calculating load, etc., is no issue with today's computer programs. Entering the snow zone, etc., is just a matter of keying it in. My dear partner, who studied construction engineering, could calculate it herself with a bit of "refreshing.
Our supplier wants 93,000:- plus VAT for the new trusses in addition to the cost of the standard trusses
I called the truss factory and found out that our NEW trusses cost a little less than 30,000:-. (At first, he refused to inform me, but once he heard "our" figure, he softened immediately.) So the other costs must be the consultants with their computer programs???, or our contact adds a few hundred percent in "fees."
Shipping is already included in the standard execution, so it doesn't add up.
The neighbor, who also built a stick-built house, reacted strongly when he heard the amount...
Pay and be happy??
Or contact ARN?

Spoke with the supplier today, but only mentioned that we have received quotes, as I promised the person at the roof truss company not to mention him since he does not want/cannot disclose prices to his customers. (afraid of losing a customer?)
He (the supplier) got upset and said he did not want to discuss this with me.
I said I want to see copies of all his documents (invoices), otherwise I'll contact ARN.
Didn't get a sensible answer, just that he had given me a price on what it costs.

Who is the supplier if I may ask?

In other threads here, it says that the truss factory charges about 100kr/m so a 10-meter truss costs about 1000kr. The truss factory probably does the calculations for free, just fill in the dimensions on their site or send in house drawings.
(What you read in many threads here reinforces the decision to try to do 'everything' yourself...)
Hope it works out...

We paid 50,000 SEK for all our roof trusses for the house. I don't remember how many there were, but a whole bunch in different sizes and measurements... though none for cathedral ceilings, I know those are a bit more expensive.
93,000 SEK + VAT sounds like fantasy prices in my eyes... It's so damn boring that you have to act like a construction cop throughout your entire build...

I bought standard roof trusses for a metal roof with a 22-degree angle and a span of 8 meters (between the walls).
Including shipping and everything, I paid 11,475 kronor for 9 pieces delivered and unloaded at home.

I hope so too...Snailman said:In other threads here, it says that the truss factory charges about 100kr/m, so a 10-meter truss costs about 1000kr. The truss factory probably does the calculations for free, you just need to fill in the dimensions on their site or send them the house plans.

The truss factory drew it up a week before production.
There are programs for that.
We also received the drawings, and you can see the calculations made in the computer program.
Not worth 93,000:- plus VAT extra, even though it resulted in about 1 m raised wall life.
I can add that there are 11 roof trusses on the main part of the house, then there were 4 small ones above the porch veranda (pyramid-shaped that are placed on top of the beams). You can see the large ones on my website. http://villa.blogg.se/260906153437_takstolarna_r_p_plats.html Here you can see what they look like one by one: http://villa.blogg.se/260906153224_frsta_takstolen.html They have struts to keep them stable during the lift.
One way to find out exactly how much your trusses should have cost is to have someone else send a request for a quote to Takstolsfabriken with exactly the same measurements, dimensions, and quantities.
Your unfortunate experience and other similar stories further reinforce my idea to build myself. Many intermediaries = high prices.

Instead of ARN, perhaps you should check with the moderators how many members and how many visits per day this forum has, and then email the link to the CEO of the company. I have a feeling that a lot of people who are building/planning to build look here quite regularly, plus the posts rank very high on Google when searching there. That should put more fire under their butts. Bloody Ocker I say >
Ocker..absolutely.Fein said:Instead of ARN, maybe you should check with the moderators how many members and how many hits per day this forum has and then email the link to the CEO of the company. The sad thing is it's a one-man company with hired consultants.
I'm almost starting to doubt there are consultants since we can't see the invoices despite the consumer service law.
He might know what he's doing isn't okay, and that's why he refuses to release his information >
We would never have chosen Salstershus if we knew what we know today.
