I have some gaps that need sealing to improve the light insulation in a wall that I am setting up. The gaps range between 1 mm and 10 mm and will not be visible when the wall is finished. What is most suitable - expanding foam or latex caulk?

Spontaneous latex but why do you need to protect against light if the gaps aren't visible? And what material is the wall made of?

S is next to D on the keyboard I suppose...

Oops, I slipped on the keyboard. It should be LjuDisolering. The material is wood on both surfaces.

Can you fill a gap as large as 10 mm with latex sealant?

It's better to use a construction sealant intended for large gaps. Start by backing with a backing rod so you don't fill the entire wall. 10mm on the outermost is enough. Available in different thicknesses. http://www.beijerbygg.se/templates/BB_Produkt.aspx?id=3783

Then a construction sealant or latex compound. If you have plenty of time, choose a cheaper one, but they usually dry slower. Most latex-based or MS-Polymer work. After years with byggmax/biltema/Danalim, I've completely switched to Bostic or equivalent professional brands, they are easier to work with. They don't cost significantly more. I use Bostic 825 for moldings and corner sealing in walls. http://www.beijerbygg.se/templates/BB_Produkt.aspx?id=27951

Thanks for the good answer!
