I have acquired a box of Essve Concrete Screws to secure nail battens on Leca blocks in the basement. They are 112mm long with a countersunk T30 head.
How good are they? Has anyone seen long-term changes? I seem to remember that MathiasS has tested them. Anyone else?

It is really not intended for Leca or lightweight concrete.
Do a test and you'll see how much it can withstand.
 
Will test some tensile strength. According to Essves' product declaration, it is also suitable for lättbetong.
 
You have the wrong screw, Johan, sitting with the big Essve catalog on my lap.

The screw I have (correctly) used, which is intended for lightweight concrete, leca, etc., is called "Lättbetongskruv." The lightweight concrete screw is driven in without pre-drilling and is also available in a variant for Induprog frame sleeves.

The concrete screw you have is intended for concrete, brick, or hollow block and requires pre-drilling, but you can skip the plug. It also comes in a variant for the Induprog sleeves.

What I have mounted with the lightweight concrete screw is still holding tight as a rock.

Thanks! What annoys me a bit is that I was recommended the concrete screw by an otherwise very serious dealer (professional store) here in Gothenburg. They also had a test station with lots of these screws driven into Leca blocks. Anyway, the "wrong" screw is rock solid. I loaded it with a jack, which resulted in the fastening plate breaking. Should work.

Are you going to fasten the studs with the screw all the way through or with an angle bracket? I can imagine that the length (112mm) with the thin metal bracket means you still get a large surface area, and with the relatively small force that arises (and is also distributed among many screws) it shouldn't be a problem.
 
The idea is to screw lying 28x70 directly into the Leca with maybe c/c 600 and a piece of tar paper behind. The space is dry.
 
I see that it's not really working to link to a specific product in the Essve catalog (order a paper copy, it's actually really good).

I guess there's not much difference between these screws anyway, at least not in leca. It might be worse to do the opposite. However, it's always a bit frustrating to get less accurate tips from someone who should know better.
