The picture shows my kitchen. There's a fridge/freezer that I want to cover with a wall/panel. I want to make the side an extension of the wall so that everything looks uniform. The wall should not be thin like a board but preferably as thick as an interior door to give a more stable impression.
Instead of framing and buying board/plaster, is there a quicker way? I'm thinking maybe a thicker butcher block that I glue to the floor, wall, and ceiling, or regular Styrofoam that I putty up, or glue a thin board onto? Do you have a good idea?
It's probably good if it can withstand someone accidentally bumping into the panel with their shoulder when walking into the wall. The wall can also be anchored to a cabinet that I will mount above the fridge.
I made a similar wall from a sheet of k-plyfa with glued beadboard. It would work just as well to glue drywall on both sides if you want to increase the thickness a bit. Glued to the floor (possibly an angle iron hidden by the fridge, I don't remember) and then sorted firmly in the fridge's overhead cabinet.
