I have a house where there are chipboards on all the walls (renovated in the 80s). I’ve put up renovation plasterboard in the stairwell/hall because it was a poor and difficult surface for wallpaper. The question is whether I should put plasterboard in the other rooms as well? What does the expert panel say?
It depends a bit on how it looks.
We have an old house where they installed particle boards in a couple of bedrooms in the 70s. Quite dull with seams that move with the humidity, etc., but gypsum doesn't fit as well in an old house so it doesn't look much better.
In the end, it became a compromise, gypsum where we built new and the particle board remained in the old rooms.
