Drywall in sloping ceiling
Yep... It's decided, last time I hired craftsmen without references (yes, I know! Sloppy). They have now plastered our entire ceiling, open up to the ridge, with visible beams. But the seams between the plasterboards aren't small neat gaps. Instead, they can be up to 1.5 cm. Is this a lost cause? Or will a painter be able to make it look good? To those who are curious and might ask, can't the ones who did it wrong redo it? No, they've left the construction without compensation! // repseJ
That was the damnedest thing, what morons! That will be difficult to fix with plaster, there's nothing behind it. You have to take everything down and start over. It also looks like they've screwed in the screws too far.
Unfortunately, there is probably a high risk of future cracks in the ceiling when it starts to move.
saw a product-placed item in an episode of Arga Snickare (I think it was the previous or the one before that season). It was like a patch they had that was meant to repair holes in drywall/sheets. What they showed in the program I think was round or square, but maybe there are longer variants that could be used for TS’s case. It was just a matter of putting on the "patch" and then filling and sanding.

OH, there were really significant gaps.. I might have to be satisfied with those who work for me.., but on the other hand, they've used up 7 buckets of screws on 40KVM of living space....
Just do it over... don't think it's possible to save that roof.... even if it could be patched up, it will look awful in the light....
References are all well and good, but isn't it better to hire craftsmen!!repsej said:Yep... It's decided then, the last time I hired contractors without references (yes, I know! You obviously didn't do that and most likely hired cheap labor from the east. No real craftsman would set a plasterboard that way.
I agree with others, no serious craftsman does it that way, but you can unscrew the boards, place noggings at all gypsum joints and ends, and also chamfer the edges that don't have the finished recess. It's unfortunate to redo it, but of course, you want a nice and perfect ceiling.

What an odd CC measure they've screwed on the second picture... 😜 Many screw-ups too
