Anyone who has drilled a hole in a granite countertop for a pop-up power outlet?
The worktop is installed and measures 1.2x3m (not something you can easily move...), so the drilling must be done on-site.

Is there a "diamond hole saw" for angle grinders or any other good tool? It needs to be high speed, I think, so a drill probably won't work. Or should I use a Dremel to mill it out, but that would probably take 14 years...
How can I avoid spraying stone dust all over the house?

Exists for angle grinders, kärnborr is the machine type made for such tasks. Make a hole in the bottom of a cheap bowl for the drill and possibly one in the side for a vacuum nozzle, and you'll probably take care of the dust well enough.

Core drill, what characterizes such a tool? I googled and it seems to be a "hole saw" with quite wide spacing between the teeth? Like this one:

There are also "hole saws" with diamond almost all the way around. Pros and cons?

Good tip with a basin or maybe a bucket. However, it won't work if you're using an angle grinder. Then you need a machine that works from above. A regular drill with 2000-3000rpm might work with such a large diameter? But an angle grinder has around 10000rpm despite 125mm diameter and larger. When it comes to stone and diamond drilling, is it higher RPM the better?
