Can probably be borrowed from your local library

The link in post #19 by "Trollskidan" is extremely useful for those who really want to delve into the subject and at the same time get a cultural-historical lesson. It's unusual for a cultural conservation student to write something so technically oriented.

I have now borrowed and read the book "Bygga trappan" by Hans Nilsson.

A nice little book that I can really recommend if you want to start thinking about building a staircase.
