Is it possible to use double 12mm chipboards instead of 22mm if you've got a batch cheaply? Click flooring will be laid on top.

Place them so that the joints do not end up in the same place and either screw or screw-glue them for stability. Remember to use chipboard screws so they are pressed against each other.

Anyone else have an opinion? Don't want it to start creaking in the floors
 
I wouldn't do it.........In theory it might work but there will still be more flex in 2 boards than 1 solid one. You'd have to glue and screw excessively, and by then maybe the savings have already been consumed.........
