Dormer, site-built or modular which is the cheapest?
Hello!
I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what might be the cheapest option. The house is a Smålandsvillan Västervik 2006 where the owners foolishly opted out of a dormer window at delivery but later realized that it is needed to make something sensible of the upper floor. There are probably two alternatives?
1) Call SMV and order a dormer window + delivery and then let a local carpentry firm set it in place.
2) Call the same local carpentry firm and build an equivalent dormer window with loose timber.
Is it possible to already say what is best/easiest here?

Yes, that might be the case. It's probably easier to get a good price too, because even if dormers are made in the factory on an assembly line, which in itself is faster than a company crafting it on-site, it's not certain that this will benefit me, but rather them in the form of higher margins, profit. A joinery company might take some time to design and build it, but in the end, it might become better.corre said:
