Hello.
I have a house from 1954. The interior walls are solid, made with standing wide thick boards (at least 8cm thick).
I was planning to open up by removing the door between the kitchen and the hall. I am now wondering if I can also remove the frame without affecting the load-bearing capacity.

It is a plank wall, probably three inches thick (approx. 75 mm). Very unusual in houses from 1954. If you want to remove a door with a frame in an existing opening, it doesn't require reinforcement. Above the door opening, there is a beam resting on the surrounding planks.
