I'm going to replace an old garage door with an 11x21 exterior door. Parts of the wall will be built up with new leca, but one side of the doorway will continue to be old (fragile) blåbetong. I know from window replacements in the house that it can be difficult to get a good hold with screws (despite special screws for lightweight concrete) when installing the frame. You might end up in a mortar joint with the screw or the lightweight concrete might break.
Is there any disadvantage if I build a "framework" with 45x195 wood studs in the doorway to have better material to attach the door frame to?
