In our garage, the previous owners used self-leveling compound and just painted the floor. Now, we've remodeled, so I have to level the floor, meaning I need to add some square meters of self-leveling compound, but the question is whether it's okay. According to the instructions, the compound must be covered within a certain time, but clearly, the car has been driven in and out for probably 30 years, and the compound has only come loose at the door and about 10 cm in (where it is thinnest due to how they built the slope). What do the experts say - is just the compound sufficient as a base?

There are fillers designed to be left open or painted. It doesn't work with just any kind.
