It is ancient-cast
Found it under a concrete floor that we tore up

  • Rusted, ancient iron object found under a concrete floor during renovation, placed on a glass surface with storage containers in the background.
  • A rusty, ancient cast iron tool or fragment found under a concrete floor.
  • Rusty, ancient cast iron object found beneath a concrete floor during renovation, featuring a loop and textured surface.
Looks like it's made for casting considering the wavy pattern. Some type of anchoring? Fun thing to have as a decoration anyway.

I don't think so, because I have those spikes.
But an exciting gadget nevertheless

Could it be part of a hinge for casting? It has nothing to do with railways.

My guess too. A hinge part for some sort of hatch that is attached with a pin or a round bar.

Can you take a picture of such a "nail"?
It's concrete sleepers in the picture with an embedded eyelet to fasten the rail with a clamp.

I know exactly how they look, but not like the ts picture.

I think the top in the picture and my picture are very similar but differently rusty. I have a feeling that these were lying along the tracks where concrete sleepers had broken and been replaced. That was just my first thought when I saw it.
