Hello!

This fall we will gain access to our house, exciting! The first step is to remove a wall on the ground floor (see red arrow) before we update the surfaces. I'm attaching two "drawings" from the municipality's drawing archive. Do these drawings describe which walls are load-bearing..? In that case, I don't understand how. The ground floor is marked BV and the upper floor with OV.

The house is a 70s brick house with 1.5 floors.

I have also looked up drawings for the neighbors' houses, but the drawings are equally sparse there.

Anyone who understands the drawing better than I do? I was still planning to bring in a professional, but it would be good to plan a little before the access date...

Thanks! :)

  • Blueprint of a 70s 1.5-story brick house showing ground floor (marked BV) with a red arrow pointing to a wall. Side and top views included.
That wall appears to have a load-bearing column supporting the dashed beam that goes to the right of it.

Hi! How do you see the column? The dashed part is a small arch but could definitely be a load-bearing beam!

Thanks for the reply!

I can't be sure, but with high probability, the dashed part is a beam. And a beam needs to rest on something, in this case, some kind of pillar.

That could definitely be the case, sounds reasonable. Thanks! :)
