As the username suggests, I live in the woods, but not in the wilderness, rather a small village with currently 4 families. Woke up the day before yesterday at 4:00 AM because it sounded like hell had broken loose. It was a wood chipper starting up at full blast. It was located down on a highway about 500m from our house as the crow flies. It may seem far, but if the wind is coming from the "wrong" direction, the sound travels easily that distance. Also woke up yesterday morning at the same time from the same wood chipper.
My question is if anyone knows if there is any guideline or even a law that states when you can start making noise in the morning..... I should add that this driver obviously didn't do this to be malicious in any way and he apologized when I had a word with him.
So I'm writing this post just to see if anyone knows what the time regulations are for construction/craft noise that can be disturbing to neighbors.
I know this post is not directly house-related but still hope it can be included and that I get a hint of what might apply.

That is probably not crystal clear, there might be vague writings about "unnecessarily disturbing" or similar, maybe...
For tenants at Stockholmshem, this applies:
"...not to nail or drill between 20:00 and 08:00."
http://www.stockholmshem.se/Boende/Ansvar--Trivsel/Ordningsregler/
Generally, it is usually said that after 22 and before 6, you should show consideration to neighbors... legally, I don't know though...

In cities, I believe there is some local ordinance that governs disruptive construction work. Construction equipment companies tend to claim that they are not allowed to start their machines before a certain time, but it's around 5:00 AM, I think.
