Hi! I'm in the process of building an indoor staircase. Timber made of pine. The staircase carriages are ready. The steps are ready. Now the holes in the staircase carriages need to be milled out. I assume each hole has to be slightly larger than the dimension of the step as there are 13 steps that need to fit into 26 holes (13 holes in each staircase carriage). I have a feeling it’s about a tolerance of 2 mm, but I could be terribly wrong. Does anyone know?

I just built a staircase myself and from what I managed to find out, it should be tight, you should be able to fit the steps with some resistance, but not with force :)

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind! :)
