Dimensioning mezzanine/loft in glulam
Moelven recommended 115*450 1 piece like that initially as a load-bearing! The rest 56*270 but that height of 450mm builds too much in height, that's not desired. So perhaps better like you, 3 pieces at 315 instead. I have sheet walls, not much to attach the pillars to. But I thought just as you write to attach to the steel beams at all 4 corners of the mezzanine.
I have followed your dialogue with interest. I am about to get a garage with a width of 6 meters, and I am planning a mezzanine floor 6x6 meters and a free height of 4.5 meters. What height do you have? Considering steel beams instead of glulam for pillars, I would gladly receive opinions.S Sylalbin said:

I have 2.7 meters in clear height. I can't confidently say how it would work with 4.5 meters clear height and glulam columns. It should probably work with 115x115 columns if they are properly anchored in the wall.
But I can't promise anything
