Hello!
I need to choose a steel beam for my garage, which has an almost flat roof with a 2-degree slope.
The garage is 9 meters deep and 6 meters wide.
The garage has been extended in depth from 6m to 9m. The existing beam is placed at half the width and runs backward. Now that it has been extended by 3m, I don't want a post at 6m where the old one was, so the new span will be 9m.
The roof consists of joists that run across the beam, rough-sawn planks, roofing felt, battens, and a metal roof.
I have limited ceiling height and need the lowest beam possible.
I live in Uddevalla, considering snow load.
Can anyone calculate this?

  • Metal garage under construction with almost flat roof, wooden beams, and scaffolding poles. Gravel and rocks are visible on the ground.
  • A partially constructed garage with temporary support beams and a nearly flat roof, surrounded by greenery and a red house in the background on a sunny day.
